I finally switched my chair socks! The Christmas ones stayed around much longer than I had planned, it's nice to finally not have red & green on my chairs. I started these before Easter and they sat waiting in a bag until just last week. I still have two chairs that need sets, so I think I'll do them in more summery colors, these are more spring but I don't think I'll bore of them during the summer.
I used Bernat Handicrafter cotton in hot green, banana yellow, soft violet and robin's egg. The pattern is the same one I used for my Christmas chair socks here.
My pattern was recently added to AllFreeCrochet.com, which is why I decided to finally stick these ones on the chairs! I'm getting a lot of new traffic through that and a few new questions about them.
One question I got was about them falling off, I haven't had any trouble with mine sliding off because I made them to fit snug. If your chair legs are skinnier, you might need to crochet tighter or skip round 3 altogether.
I also added the pattern to ravelry, you can find it here. If you make any, be sure to add them!
So cute!
ReplyDeleteEj hvor er de søde, tror vores bord skal have sådan et sæt! Tak fordi du deler! Og a en vidunderlig dag!
ReplyDeleteI need to make some of these.. what a great idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea! These are so cute!
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful, they not only look great but what a wonderful idea. I have to make these.
ReplyDeleteJust what I need!
ReplyDeleteI keep losing the vilted pads we glued underneath the legs of our chair.
If I ever get back in to my own home again (taking forever) I am going to make me some LOL
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun little touch! These are adorable.
ReplyDeleteI love making functional things cute. We have those sticky things on the bottom of our chairs that always fall off (and then the sticky part gets coated in dog hairs.)
ReplyDeleteBravo, Casey! These are adorable!
Dang, this is the best idea I've seen in a long time. My floors are so beat up, it might be too late, but these little socks are too cute not to try. :)
ReplyDeleteI queued this pattern on Ravelry a few days ago, then I found your blog today and was so pleased that you're the designer of these socks! It's a small crochet world! Hi!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I'm wondering if this would be an easy thing to start out with when learning how to crochet?
ReplyDeleteI have chair socks now (they were a gift) but they are shorter and tend to fall off all the time.
I made these and love them! Just recently made them a little larger in wool and felted them! I got a request to make some for others already! Thanks for sharing- my friends and I are loving them!
