meet berry

berry the penguin

This is Berry. I made him using this free pattern from Lion Brand and Cotton Tots yarn in blueberry, wonder white and sunshine.

He is small but super soft and snuggly. I sewed his eyes on a bit crooked, I tried to fix it but it didn't work out too well, I don't think it's too noticeable though. Instead of safety eyes, I used black cotton and made a french knot.

I made him for my sister who's pregnant with her first baby, a boy. She told me she wanted a penguin and then I spotted a picture of one in these colors on her computer. I hope she likes him, even with his crooked eyes!

  5. really cute!! but that's the problem I have with those amigurumis: they look so sweet, but I don't enjoy making them, because of those teeny weeny arms and legs and ears and tails you have to crochet and then sew together (that's the worst part for me). I admire anyone who makes those cute little things, great job! And maybe I'll give this penguin a try. I always do... ;)

  9. Berry is so cute! I'm sewing a little plush lamb as a baptism present and it's amazing how it seems to have a personality. Berry's got a very cuddly personality.
