solid mini square pattern

patchwork

You will need:
4mm hook (G)
a small amount of yarn

1: make a magic circle, ch2 (counts as dc), 11dc into circle, join to first dc (12dc)
2: ch2, 2dc in each stitch. join to first dc (24dc)
3: ch1, *3sc, hdc, 3dc in one stitch, hdc* repeat to beginning stitch. Join and fasten off. Weave in ends.

You can use this square for any project that requires granny squares, I used this pattern to make my patchwork dog pillow. (tutorial coming!)

These are super cute and the instructions are clear and easy to understand. Cheers!

Does this mean 3sc, hdc, 3dc in one stitch AND THEN hdc in next?

Hi there,

You've probably figured it out by now, but it means 3 sc in first 3 sts of the round, then 1 hdc in next st, then 3dc in next st, then 1 hdc in next.

I hope this helps!
Thanks for clarification. I read it quite differently
hello
If people are having a hard time with the magic circle, you can chain four and slip stitch to form a circle, chain three, then do 11 double crochets into the circle while crocheting over the tail of the starting yarn. Make sure you have a long enough tail yarn to be crocheted over. This gives enough bulk to create a near solid circle like you would get with the magic circle. Hope that helps anyone having difficulties.

How many stitches are we supposed to have in the finished square?

I used a 3.5mm hook and it came out at 2 inches.
