It's finished! I'm so happy with the way the bag turned out, it's exactly what I wanted. I wasn't sure about the yellow to join the squares but I loved it so much that I used it for the straps too, I think it looks perfect. This was such a fun bag to make, I'm already thinking of making more!
I didn't line the bag, I think it will be okay without a liner. Maybe one day I'll attempt to line it but for now I like it like this. It's very roomy in there, it can hold a lot of stuff.
To make the bag, I crocheted 22 something pretty squares. To join the squares, I put them wrong side together and joined using a sc through the back loops on both squares. I used a size 5 hook and Bernat Handicrafter cotton for the whole bag in tangerine, white and pale yellow.

ReplyDeleteI love how you did the handles! I tried making a bag similar to this using regular granny squares, but I never could get the lining right. I might have to try again with a square that has fewer gaps. Yours looks like it will work great as a big tote without a lining!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I love it!
