a wire hanger.

crocheted hanger

I won a giveaway not too long ago and the prize was a print and this bag (awesome tote!) from pure and noble. I don't usually have frames laying around and I really wanted to get this dress print put up in the girls room, so I decided to give something a try.

I grabbed a wire hanger, some rouge yarn and crocheted sc's around it. This was my first time crocheting around a hanger and it will probably be my last time. It was the most annoying crochet I've ever done! I almost stopped half way through. I'm glad I pushed through and finished, I love the end result!

After I was done, I grabbed some clothespins and used them to hold the print to the hanger. I absolutely love the way this looks, I'm not even going to bother getting a frame anymore!

... but I still will NOT crochet around a hanger again!

PS. there's still time to enter my mandala giveaway, it's open until Monday. Have a great weekend everyone!

  1. Thank goodness you pushed through. Look at how cool it is! I have MANY projects that I started and gave up. Most of them I've finished, the others? Well... they're either collecting dust or has been ripped apart and transformed into something else.

    Have a wonderful weekend, Casey!

  2. It looks great!
When you said it was hard to do, I thought, how hard could it be? So I tried it.
Like you, I don't think I'll ever do it again. The hand-cramping from working around a non-flexible object, and the multiple times I got poked in the face made up my mind.
But I like the way mine looks, too.
