I'm really excited about starting this project! Ever since I first learned to crochet, I've seen pictures of the Babette everywhere. I will admit at first, I wasn't a fan of it but it has definitely grown on me, so much that I'm going to make one myself!
The pattern calls for 17 colors but I've only got 13 (12 in the picture), so colors are going to get used twice. I haven't figured out which colors go where just yet, I'm hoping I get them set up right so that there's not too much grouping of one color. At first I thought I would choose colors randomly as I went but I've decided to follow the pattern. Less stress that way.
I'm using Loops & Threads Impeccable Solids in these colors:
chocolate
true gray
aqua
butterscotch
rouge
white
pumpkin
soft taupe
soft fern
lavender
grass
grape
soft rose (not pictured)
Hopefully next week I'll have a bit of progress to share! Have a great weekend everyone!
Your yarn colors are beautiful, can't wait to watch the progress on this. This design also keeps catching my eye. Eventually I'm going to have to dive into this too but I have a few afghans in the hopper now and think I need to get through them first.
ReplyDeleteI am excited for you. I have long admired the Babette, but I've never looked into making it. I see it in my future, maybe later this year. My next blanket is urchins and limpets. I hope to start this weekend; I found it on Ravelry.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing your progress! (I think that I just de-lurked.)
I don't know what the Babette is but I'm excited by these colors! :)

ReplyDeleteI LOVE babettes! Hope to squeeze out enough time to make one myself this year :)
ReplyDeleteMaking the Babette is so much fun. I also made one last year and I think sooner or later I will make another one. Success!

I love the colors you picked out. This is the first I've heard of the Babette but I fell in love as soon as I saw it! I may have to try it later in the year, or whenever I can pick up that many skeins of yarn at once! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI love these colors. I'm also beginning a quilt granny block afghan in Impeccable yarn.
