April yarn bits

The blog week posts stopped rather abruptly, huh? I got side tracked with a lot of stress, so the posts fell to the back burner. There was a topic that I really liked but never got to. It was "Where are they now?". I'm hoping to write a blog post or maybe two on that one soon.

Welcome to all the new visitors that started coming by because of Knitting and Crochet Blog Week. My followers list is growing so much every day, I'm glad that you all like visiting me here and it's so great to find other people interested in crochet too. I've started thinking about doing a giveaway soon, maybe in the next week or two, so be sure to come back for that.

Anyway, it's a new month and time to show the yarn bits. Or orts as I've been told they're sometimes called, the word sounds so funny though, so I think I'll be sticking to bits.

There's quite a bit of white up top because I've started working on babette again. I'm so close to being done! I still need a new container, this one is overflowing now.

Thanks for visiting today, happy Monday!

hello March!

March yarn bits

I finally got a jar to store the yarn bits in, the plastic container was really starting to overflow. I might still find something bigger though. For now, I'm using an old peanut butter container.

Lots of colorful yarn in there. There's even some embroidery thread in there somewhere from my embroidery project I recently finished.

February yarn bits

yarn bits

February started with my yarn bits collection looking like this. Still no pretty container. As of today though, there's a lot more cotton on the top! Lots of potholder making going on around here.

I hope you're all having a great weekend. It's still morning, but I already can't wait for the Superbowl to end. Glee has been gone way too long!

yarn bits

yarn bits

Do you remember I said that this year I wanted to save up all my yarn ends in a pretty little container? Well, I'm not sure it was those words exactly but I implied it. I think. Anyway, I started on the first of January and these are the bits I've snipped off so far.

I haven't gotten a pretty container to put it all into just yet, it's hard to find something I won't get sick of. So, for now, I've got it in a ziplock container. All year long I will be filling my container with the bits of yarn I snip off from projects. And I'll share what I've got every so often, maybe once a month?

Why am I doing this? Because it's pretty to look at. And next spring, I'll give them all up to the birds to pretty up their nests.
