2012 in mosaics

I actually stuck with the monthly mosaics this year! I really did a lot of crafting this year. I made a lot of ami's and will probably continue to do so next year!

Enjoy a look back at 2012!

Here's a few things that happened on the blog in November.

November

Added baby blankets to the shop.

Crocheted a cute reindeer hat!

I put up my Christmas wreath and updated it a bit.

Made an indoor snowball fight kit for the kids.

Finished testing a blanket, called Owl My Love Blanket (pattern is now live!)

I crocheted a Christmas Pickle to start a new tradition this Christmas.

October

october

I actually did quite a bit this month, I haven't even shared all of what I've done. I have quite a bit to catch up on here! Here's what I did manage to share last month though:

I made cute bats and joined them into a garland that I hung over my mirror.

I made my son a googley eyed monster hat and I shared how to make it too. Did anyone make one?

I gave intarsia crochet a try and I really like how it turned out!

Mixtro the Monster was a gift for my son's birthday in September, he's a free pattern from FreshStitches and Knitting Fever. (click to the post to go to the pattern)

I crocheted an Anthropologie (cookie jar) inspired owl.

Made a striped cowl that ended up too small for my taste. I'm making a second one and I should be sharing how to make your own soon too.

September

september

Wow, I didn't realize I had worked on so many fun projects this month! Looking at this mosaic makes me really happy!

I started getting into the Halloween spirit by making this "spooky" spider, there's more Halloween amigurumi coming too.

I reviewed a new crochet book called Crochet Boutique and made a bag from it. It was my first time reviewing a craft book, I enjoyed it, I hope I'll get to do more in the future!

I started a new something pretty bag. I am finished but need to get decent pictures taken of it and then I will be adding it to the shop! It turned out very pretty!

My nephew turned one this month and I made him a pirate themed gift!

I made myself a crocheted patchwork Scottie dog using some squares I crocheted last year. I still haven't given him up to my kids, might not ever either!

Finally, I crocheted an owl basket.

September was a good crocheting month! I think October will be too, I have quite a few projects almost completed and ready to share!

August

august
The mosaic is pretty late this month but I remembered before September was over at least! It felt like a slow month but I did accomplish a fair amount of crafting.

I crocheted a fun lobster for my son. I really love his red eyes!

I finished a blanket that I started last year, yikes! I'm working on getting some tags for my blankets and then I will be adding this one (and others) to my shop! (unless someone is interested in getting it tag-less, email me if that's you!)

I completed a pretty big sized cross-stitch. I still love it and will stare at it often.

Crocheted a granny square pillow. There's another pillow I'm about to start this week that a lot of people will be happy about because I'll be sharing the pattern for it!

The pillow will have to wait until I finish this jumbo dragon though. The deadline is creeping up and I am far from finished.

Finally, I made a cake topper for my parent's anniversary that I am very proud of! It's nice when you make something you are genuinely excited about!

July

july
The makings in July weren't as scarse as I thought they were! I didn't actually share it all here but I did manage to fill a mosaic, not too bad at all.

I showed you the coasters I made for a swap I did with Jacey. I loved making those, I really should make myself some too.

I crocheted an owl, I never shared her here but you can see my ravelry page for the finished owl. After taking the finished picture, I didn't care for it so much anymore, probably why I never posted it!

I haven't been feeling so great this month, so I started a distraction blanket using up my Bernat Mosaic. I haven't touched it since I posted about it and that's still a good thing!

There was a cute snail pinned on pinterest and I had to have one of my own, I made mine up as I went but there is a pattern for the same thing on ravelry. He still lives in my bonsai tree, the kids have mostly left him alone.

Lizzie slippers from Good Knits! Super fast and cute project.

I knit a log cabin! I can't believe I didn't post about this because I am so proud of myself for figuring this out! This one is a washcloth, I was going to make it bigger for a blanket but have since decided to figure out a color scheme before tackling a blanket.

June

Almost forgot about June's mosaic!

june

I tested the Choose Your Own Dragon Adventure pattern for Fresh Stitches. I made two dragons, a girl and a boy, both turned out super cute!

I was on a dishcloth kick for a little while and ended up with a nice stack of dishcloths, crocheted and knit!

I caught up on my dessert of the month again, now to get July done! It's a strawberry shortcake, yum! I may have to reward myself after I finish it with a slice of cake.

I made a tabby cat door stopper for my daughter's room.

And I started a new blanket of roses!

May

I feel like May just started, this month has really flown by! I've managed to get a lot of crafting done still though. I'm happy with all the cuteness I managed this month.

May

I finished knitting my dish towel, I love it with its aqua crochet border. I've even been using it, I more expected it to sit and look pretty since it's so light in color but I like using it.

I tested a pattern called Granny Hoot for Michelle! It turned out so cute, I have her koala one half finished right now also, I should have that finished and ready to share soon I hope, I keep getting side tracked lately.

I made a cute hedgehog pillow for my daughter, it's small but useable for a 5 year old. She definitely likes it, it made it with us on our family trip a couple weekends ago!

The grandma love cushion is another pattern from Michelle, this one sat in my ravelry queue for far too long, I love this pillow!

I finished up a cute cross stitch for my kitchen, it's a leaning tower of macaroons.

I added my Chair Socks pattern to ravelry just this week and it's already gotten over 100 favorites! The pattern was also added to AllFreeCrochet.com this month too.

Now bring on June!

April

April

April was a slow posting month but I did accomplish a good amount of crafting.
I caught up with my Desert of the Month sampler, May's pattern came in yesterday, I can't wait to start working on it!
I started knitting a dishtowel and I'm still working on it, knitting is slow.
I crocheted a plum blossom dishcloth.
I crocheted a ripple dishtowel to bring a pop of color to my kitchen.
Made myself some cute bow rings, they're my favorite accessory these days!
And finally I made an adorable handbag that's been in my ravelry queue for at least two years! Tomorrow, I'll share some better pictures of it.

March

March

There was quite a bit of doily blanket making in March, love those blankets! And there was a couple bunny makings as well, cute bunny makings! I got quite a bit done in March, much more than I expected.

I think I will slow down for April and work on some blankets already in progess like the grannies & ripples. I may even pull out diagonale, that one hasn't been touched since the end of January!

February

Happy Leap Day!

February

February was a good month, I did a fair bit of crochet, I even started some spring time crochet. I did the February desert of the month, which I apparently never actually shared but I did it and it is just as cute as the first one, maybe a bit cuter! I attempted a craft photo a day challenge but after so much sick hit the house, I fell behind and never caught up, it was fun while I did it though.

I've got more spring crochet on the hooks that I will hopefully share soon and I should be getting back to the grannies and ripples soon too, the spring colors are just so hard to turn away from.

I hope your February was just as creative too!

January

I found the idea for these monthly mosaics at Crochet With Raymond last year but didn't want to start doing them in the middle of the year. This year though, I decided that I would do them, I think they'll be a fun look back at everything that I've done during the month.

January

I started diagonale last month and am still loving the project! I also did some cute crochet and started on my Desert of the Month Club cross stitch.
